How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, review and publish listings, deliver enquiries, process packages, operate professional directories, provide support, prevent abuse, maintain audit records, improve performance and comply with legal obligations.
Public information
Approved listings and professional profiles are public. Address visibility follows the homeowner's selected setting. Do not upload information you are not authorised to publish. Enquiry contact details are visible only to the relevant listing owner and authorised staff.
Service providers and disclosure
Information may be processed by providers supporting hosting, database and authentication, file storage, payments, transactional email, domain services, monitoring and business productivity. Providers receive only the information reasonably required for their service and are subject to contractual or technical controls.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to investigate fraud or threats, to enforce platform rights, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
International processing
Some providers may process information outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and appropriate safeguards, while recognising that overseas privacy laws may differ.
Security
BYOAgent uses encrypted transport, managed authentication, restricted staff permissions, row-level database security, private storage, payment webhooks, audit logs and abuse controls. No online system is risk-free; users should use a unique password and promptly report suspected account misuse.
Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, dispute, fraud-prevention and audit obligations. Closing an account removes public content and anonymises profile details where appropriate, while transaction and compliance records may be retained.
Your choices and rights
You may update profile details and marketing preferences, access support history, close your account, and request access to or correction of personal information. Some deletion requests may be limited by legal retention obligations. Contact us if you wish to exercise a privacy right or make a complaint.
Cookies and authentication
BYOAgent uses essential cookies or similar storage to maintain secure sessions and prevent misuse. Optional analytics or advertising technologies should not be enabled without any consent required by applicable law.
Contact
Privacy questions, requests or complaints may be sent to [email protected]. We will review complaints and respond within a reasonable period.
